The Department for Education’s Opportunity Areas Insight Guide to Careers has highlighted the Pathways for All programme as a key part of the Blackpool Careers Journey. In a new report, they mention how the programme’s engagement coaches supported young people in Year 11 at risk of becoming becoming Not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET) over the summer transition period and in the crucial early months of post‑16 education and training.

Pathways for All initially ran with a small cohort of schools, and is now targeted for scale-up from September 2021.

The Blackpool Careers Journey is a town-wide, co‑ordinated offer of careers support for all children and young people to help them prepare for work. Within this, Pathways for All offers additional help to the most vulnerable young people, who are at risk of becoming NEET or who are NEET.
As a result of the Blackpool Careers Journey, the town has been identified as an area of good practice in the 2020 Careers and Enterprise Company report.
